Norman Lockyer Observatory.

Due to the amount of images we gather each month, can you please select only 5 of your best images for the video per person. Also an increasing number of people imaging is making this huge.

To help can you choose the best quality image and in photoshop do the following:

For larger chipped cameras i.e ATIK314 and DSLR take your photo into photoshop reduce the physical  size by 30%-40%  then in the DPI box replace 72 with 100, this will enable me to zoom into any images at full screen.

Also please only submit HA in BW due to varying degrees of processing skills some RED HA are too vibrant and clash with various monitors etc. If you feel you have the colour correct let me see it so I can advise.

If you create a mosaic of the moon or deep space please do not leave the empty spaces white and try and remove any artifacts like the edges or noise from the black area.

When you have finished an image in registax and save it you always need to crop a few pixels from the surrounding border, registax always has a thin light edge around images especialy on black background.

Never over process any of your images if it looks right then don't fiddle too much with it.

Please don't use frames around your image for the video, just the plain image with the object name

For the video I would appreciate if you would just put the object name-number in a corner but not close to the edge.

As time goes by I will get you all to create a template for the images depicting the camera and telescope used to take your images, this might mean different setups for different objects like the planets, solar, lunar from deep space this will help members and future members get an idea of the equipment capabilities etc.

I want to be able to always present your hard work in a professional manner, we all work hard, long hours and it should be presented this way.
